Introducing our real bride of the month, Alisha!
Alisha and her husband Lucas met at a mutual friend's birthday party in Washington D.C., where the two ended up in the same car on the way home. "I did not even get his number that night, just his name," Alisha says. "About two weeks later we talked on the phone and have been inseparable ever since."
For her wedding dress, Alisha had her heart set on a different Alfred Angelo style. However, she had a change of heart during her appointment. She tried on four dresses, and the third dress was the one: Style 2507. "I was determined my dress would be Alfred Angelo and nothing else," she recalls.
Alisha and Lucas' wedding theme was blush and gold. The couple didn't want anything too bold or flashy and brought their wedding to life through beautiful details. Invitations, table settings, bouquets and signage were blush and ivory. Alisha's matron of honor dyed curtains blush. The couple's cake was made by a small business owner from Alisha's hometown of Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
A carefree and laidback bride, Alisha and her bridesmaids went to the mall the morning of her wedding to indulge. While getting ready with her family and friends, it began to rain. "I simply said, 'Rain or shine, this day will continue,'" Alisha recalls. Then the moment came. "As I walked down the aisle toward the love of my life, I saw family and friends watch me as I watched Lucas shed tears, even after seeing me for a first look," says Alisha.
The couple's wedding reception was everything they wanted and more. Lucas is a member of fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. and wanted to celebrate in true undergrad style. Following the cutting of the cake, Lucas and his fraternity brothers serenaded Alisha. "Immediately after, they began strolling and got the party started as if we were all 21 again!" says Alisha.
