Introducing our real bride of the month, Emily! Eight years ago, Emily and her husband Josh met at a mutual friend's birthday party. They remained friends, and in December 2013, went on their first date. "Then New Year's came, and we had our first kiss getting caught under the mistletoe," says Emily. "By February we were completely inseparable and meant to be."
"Josh is my best friend and better half," she adds. "Without him my world wouldn't be complete, and he has enriched my life."
Emily and Josh's wedding theme was, "I love you to the moon and back." Their tables were named after constellations, they had twinkling lights throughout, and their DJ surprised them with a moving projection of their names under the clouds and a bright moon. "Josh gave me little things throughout our time together with moons and stars," Emily explains. "So when we were thinking about a theme, we couldn't have picked something more us."
Emily chose Alfred Angelo Style 2565 for her special day. Once she put it on, it was everything she wanted. "I started to cry, and I didn't want to take it off. Even when I look at dresses now, my dress is still the best dress, and I would choose it over and over again."
Emily and Josh wed at the Kensington Golf & Country Club on October 8, 2016. "The most special part of our ceremony was having my high school A cappella group perform," Emily says. "They sang 'Bright' by Echosmith, and I walked down the aisle to 'Love Me Like You Do' by Ellie Goulding."
"Seeing my father and then Josh for the first time that day took my breath away, and I felt more in love with Josh than I was prepared for," she recalls. "All the emotion was incredible, and I wouldn't change a thing."
After the emotional ceremony, the couple celebrated at the reception. With Josh being a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, the duo waited to see the team's game-winning shot in the NBA Finals before entering their party. After a delicious dinner, the couple did a lip sync battle based off of LL Cool J's TV show (Emily sang 'Drunk in Love' by Beyonce, and Josh sang 'I'm Sexy and I Know It" by LMFAO.). "It was amazing," says Emily. "We partied like it was 1999, and no one sat down until they asked us to leave."
"Best party ever," she adds. "I'm not saying that because it was our wedding. People still call and text us about how fun it was, asking when we're planning to renew our vows for another party."
