Real Wedding: Jennifer + Tim

Brides-Like-Us---2015.pngIntroducing our real bride of the month, Jennifer!

Jennifer and her husband Tim met in high school. “He was in a band with a mutual friend, so I would go to their shows,” says Jennifer. The two began spending time one-on-one, and in 2009, Tim asked Jennifer to be his girlfriend. The two have been together ever since, including five years of long distance. “Saying yes [to being his girlfriend] seven years ago was the best choice I ever made,” says Jennifer.

Jennifer and Tim’s wedding theme was Great Gatsby meets garden party. “I wanted the glamorous, opulent spirit of the 1920s without it being a theme wedding,” says Jennifer. Peonies and ranunculus contributed to a garden party look, while wedding colors of black, gold and blush along with art deco details provided a Gatsby aesthetic. “We really wanted our wedding to be a lavish event with a relaxed vibe, and I think that we captured that,” says Jennifer.

For her dress, Jennifer wore Alfred Angelo Style 2459 (discontinued, similar styles here and here). “It was completely perfect!” she says. “It was flattering and comfortable, but also totally glamorous and made me feel like a princess from the moment I first put it on.” Her bridesmaids wore an assortment of floor length black chiffon Alfred Angelo dresses. “Each of the maids got to pick the dress that they thought was the most flattering on them, and there were so many options for them to choose from,” says Jennifer.

“Our wedding day was amazing because of all the talented and brilliant people that were involved,” she says. “From the moment that we got up until we rode off through a cloud of sparklers’ smoke, we were surrounded by love. My favorite part of our day might have been the ride to the reception after the wedding. It was so surreal to just be together and finally be married. I wouldn’t change anything about the day, except I would have taken time to eat a piece of our delicious cake!”
