Introducing our real bride of the month, Kathleen!
Kathleen met her future husband Cort in middle school: “We actually had a class together in seventh grade! Our school was so big that it took us until the last month of our senior year to become friends.” The two eventually connected while doing community service together at a local Goodwill as punishment for participating in a food fight for a senior prank.
“We went on to attend Indiana University, where we started dating freshman year,” says Kathleen. “We dated all through college, and he proposed on my birthday in September of our senior year.”
On May 17, 2015, Kathleen and Cort hosted a classic romantic wedding with elegant charm. Simple details with heartfelt touches adorned their tranquil venue, The Bridgewater Club. The bride wore Style 2509, which she loved for its bold simplicity. “My dress was very elegant and classically romantic, yet it had a subtle sexiness to it.”
Kathleen walked down the aisle with her father to an awaiting Cort. “I was filled with so many emotions as I began the long walk arm-in-arm with my dad,” she recalls.
The celebration continued at a reception full of fun dances and memorable moments. “We cut the cake to ‘Sugar, Sugar’ by the Archies, and of course had to smear some onto each other’s faces,” Kathleen says. “The food was amazing, the toasts were heartfelt, and the dances were emotional. Everything was so special and personal. I loved every second of it.”
Kathleen’s favorite part of the evening was when she and Cort were able to steal a moment together to look around at their reception, knowing that their guests were all there for them. “Everyone I loved was in one room, and it made me so happy,” she says.
