Introducing our real bride of the month, Sarah!
Sarah met her husband Josh ten years ago when they were students at Indiana University and living in the same dorm. Although they were studying different fields, the couple discovered they had a lot in common. “We became close friends right away, bonding over music and IU basketball,” Sarah says. “We started dating a few months after we met, and the rest is history!”
For her wedding, Sarah chose Alfred Angelo Style 2379J. “It was actually the first dress I tried on anywhere,” she says. “I put on four other dresses after that just to be sure, but I was confident that it was the one.” The gown, which had a detachable jacket, was very versatile. “It was so much fun to change up my look between the ceremony and reception!”
Although the couple married on the 4th of July, they opted to keep things classic and romantic with a black, white and gold color palette. They incorporated a few subtle details as a nod to the holiday, including sparklers and their signature drink, “The Sparkler,” which was one of Sarah’s favorite wedding detail. It consisted of gin, champagne, lime and grenadine and was served in sugar-rimmed glasses.
It was important for Sarah and Josh to get married on campus at IU, where they met and shared a lot of memories. After a beautiful ceremony in the courtyard garden at the Indiana Memorial Union, the celebration continued in the banquet room with dinner and dancing.
“The day was filled with so many special touches,” Sarah says. “Our officiants were my campus pastors during my time in college. A dear friend played cello for the ceremony. We also chose some special songs for our DJ to play at the reception. In addition to our wonderful families, we had many friends travel from around the country to help us celebrate.”
